Amanda and Matt's Engagement Photo Shoot

Amanda and Matt were such a fun couple to shoot.

They were both very relaxed and comfortable with each other. The subjective viewer who witnesses the moment can agree that the photos reflect who they really are. I felt like a spectator in something very special. They wanted to shoot at Lake Alice, at the campus of the University of Florida, the site where they first met and also where they were engaged.

I could not have found a more scenic location.

"I have a little confession to make", I told them when they first arrived.
I told them to meet at 4pm, thinking they were going to be late. They arrived early and were ready to go from the start. I was very grateful for that. We didn't have to rush through the shoot at all. We got the most use out of the beautiful afternoon sunset light. The light at Lake Alice started to hit that ideal warm orange glow at around 5pm. At this point we were perfectly on schedule and at the precise moment to shoot the photos by the water.

Amanda and I discussed the so called "Hobo shot," a shot that we re-badged as the "Hitchhiker/Save the date" shot. I was very excited that we were able to create it. This was a very tricky shot though, and it took several tries to nail the proper settings, position, angle etc. Thank you so much for your patience guys!

Lake Alice in February is not as full as it is in the spring obviously, but I think we played well with the drama that the scenery brought. I hope you all enjoyed these photos!

The photos were taken on location at Lake Alice, Gainesville, FL on February 8, 2009.
Amanda and Matt's wedding date is set for May 30th 2009.

I had a difficult time selecting just six photos to post in this blog. There were too many good ones.
